OOP's, Britney's Back.

With magazines printing stories about Britney Spears each week, she went from being one of the most popular role models, to one of the most disastrous women on the planet. With her short shorts in place, her pig tales tied up, children around the world wanted to act, sing, and dance just like Britney in the late 1990’s. Until recently, Britney has made many, if not all, magazine covers with all her controversial attitudes, the birth of her two sons, and her new album/ concert.

Last year at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards, Britney Spears was planning her comeback. Unfortunately, she did not please the audience, the media, and what looked like, herself. Wearing a skimpy outfit for her performance, and her microphone turned down, she walked out on stage and gave the most watched lip-synced performance of her life. Singing her then new hit ‘Gimme More’, she tried to keep up with the lyrics, and her backup dancers, but came short in both categories. The moment she ran off the stage (literally), bloggers and news reporters were already critiquing her performance, and giving her horrible criticism for her dancing and her body.

With her celebrity friends in the audience, they looked up at her in horror. Diddy and 50 Cent both had a confused expression on their face during the whole performance.

With her trying to dance around in only a bra and panties, Britney got called ‘fat’ by every blog, magazine, and television show. Looking at her, in the real world, she’s is definitely not fat. Most women would love her body. But in Hollywood, she should have known better then showing off her rounder stomach and butt cheeks on the most anticipated show. Britney should have known that she would get eaten alive by the media. After all, how long has she been in this business? She should have requested to wear something that would have covered up her flaws, but still have that Britney twist that most of her clothes resemble. She came back wanting to shock the world with her performance, but she shocked everyone with her body instead.

For America, let alone the whole world, to criticize a women who has had two children not to long ago, is up surd.

When Britney finally had enough, she had a very emotional and life changing breakdown. With her two kids being born back to back, and the divorce of Kevin Federline breaking her down piece by piece, Britney needed all the help she could get. The only people around her that were always there were the paparazzi. She formed many friendly relationships with them, often posing and using different accents to get their attention. With the paparazzi doing their jobs, they were making easy money off of her, while she, having a serious illness (bipolar disorder), didn’t think any different. With her father finally taking over, giving her a curfew and making those day to day decisions, she would still sneak out to give the paparazzi there little show.

It's about time that someone locked her up and made her get help. She's obviously not in her best mental shape, and not stable enough to make her own decisions. Why would you let these two innocent children walk around with someone who's not mentally all their? Even though she is their mother, she could harm them at any moment.

Sure the paparazzi are playing along in this little game instead of getting her help. Even though they use Britney, they still take care of her and make sure no harm comes between her and them. Britney is just as much of a player in this game, as the paparazzi are. Celebrities that want to get away from the public eye tend to hide from the paparazzi. Britney on the other hand, makes sure they know where she is at all times.

Other celebrities think this crash in Britney’s life is heartbreaking. With actress and mom Demi Moore, she believes it’s the paparazzi's fault Britney turned out the way she did. "How can anyone see that and think that's an OK way to expect anybody to live, no matter where they're at in their life? ... I do think the boundaries could use a little reshaping, redefining what an invasion of privacy is." [1]

But all these Britney antics have made some celebrities grateful. With a decision to let stars and celebrities have some sort privacy, an inspired Los Angeles City councilwoman made a law that the paparazzi cannot ignore. With Britney Spears being the most followed and watched celebrity, she decided to name her rule, the ‘Britney Law’. This enforces that celebrities have a 20-yard personal bubble, that paparazzo’s can’t cross. [2]

As Christina Aguilera, a fellow competitor of Britney’s, once said in an article, "Being objectified in magazines comes with the territory; you have to take it with a pinch of salt. In terms of reading bad opinions, I tend to see all negativity and criticism as a good thing. Because people are at least talking about me, so they must care in some way."

Back to the MTV Video Music Awards, Britney only did the show for publicity. I’m sure she knew that she wasn’t mentally and physically up for it, but needed the viewers to talk about her and her new album (Blackout, which was released October 30, 2007). With this plan intact, Britney Spears made headlines not even 25 minutes after her performance leading her to boom into the lime light again. So, with the horrible lip-singing & dancing, the big custody battle with K Fed, the birth of her two adorable sons, and the new hits like ‘Womanizer’, ‘Circus’ and ‘If You Seek Amy’, Britney Spears is the most read/watched/cared about celebrity out there, all thanks to the ups and downs of her career. Whoever came up with this direction in a celebrity’s life is a genius.
